UAE is one of the prominent destinations when it comes to tourism, business, and other crucial purposes. Many Indians look forward to visiting Dubai for leisure, business work, establishing a new business, or visiting their friends or family. For such immense reasons, having a Dubai visa is essential in today’s scenario. This is why the UAE authorities have a special announcement for all Indian passport holders. The UAE has declared that Indian citizens having an ordinary passport are now eligible for visa-on-arrival across all the entry ports of the country.
Types of Visa-On-Arrival in UAE Options Available For Indians
Indian citizens who are eligible travelers generally have two choices for acquiring an on-arrival visa:
- 14-Day Visa: This visa will be issued to eligible Indian citizens for 14 days. If they wish, they can extend this visa for a further 14 days.
- 60-Day Visa: This visa will be granted for 60 days to Indian nationals holding Indian passports and is a non-extendable visa.
Both types of visas will need the visitors to pay the required fees as per the UAE regulations.
What is the Eligibility Criteria?
The visa-on-arrival is only applicable to people who have permanent resident cards, green cards, or valid visas from the United States, United Kingdom, or any other European Union country. Also, to qualify for this visa, it is mandatory to have a passport with a minimum validity of 6 months before the date of entry into the UAE.
Previous Efforts by the Dubai Government for Indian Nationals
The latest visa-on-arrival declaration has been built over the past efforts made by the UAE government to make travel hassle-free for Indian Nationals. Last year in 2023 February, Emirates Airlines along with VFS Global presented a pre-approved visa-on-arrival solution for Indian passport holders. This helped them to skip all the queues when arriving in the dynamic city of Dubai. Also, in the same month, Dubai also came up with the idea of offering a five-year multiple-entry visa for Indians. This was introduced to improve business, tourism, and economic ties between India and the UAE.
As per the reports, India is a prominent source for travelers to Dubai. In the year 2023, Dubai witnessed a 25% increase in Indian tourists in contrast to pre-pandemic standards.
